ABOUT
Universal Selective takes pride in producing music videos, building creative communication & hosting concerts for the legendary British-Asian Producer & Dj Bally Sagoo. Widely credited as one of the pioneers of Bollywood Remixes, Bhangra and much more, Bally triggered the explosion of Asian-Underground blending Western dance, reggae and hip hop with Indian music. This is specifically seen in his 1994 album Bollywood Flashback, with the cover version of Asha Bhosle’s “Chura Liya” from the album is widely considered as an industry benchmark and the gold standard for Bollywood mixes; followed up by Rising From The East in 1996. Bally Sagoo also runs a production company named Fresh Dope Records and has been awarded numerous Platinum album sales and awards. He has also toured with Michael Jackson in India. In 2003 he won an “Outstanding Achievement Award” at the UK Asian Music Awards.
On an international scale, his most famous work features prominently in Gurinder Chadha’s film Bend It Like Beckham and It’s a Wonderful Afterlife. He worked together with Amitabh Bachchan for a musical rendition of Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s poetry & his first album Aby Baby and produced Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s groundbreaking album Magic Touch.

Universal Selective is credited to organize multiple gigs & building communication for Bally Sagoo. In 2021, Universal Selective has produced a music video- “Pyar Naiyon Mileya” for Bally Sagoo’s latest album called ‘Next Level’. Directed by Nitesh Mathur, the music video received great accolades & was featured in top media across the world. The company has also designed the ‘sleeve’ for ‘Next Level” CD & Vinyl.
